December is notorious for an increased in the amounts of slips, trips, and falling due to more ice in fact there were a total of 42,480 workplace injuries and illnesses involving ice, sleet or snow that required at least one day away from work to recuperate. This is a large statistic for something you would probably never expect to be severe, however, slips, trips, and falls due to snow and ice fall under the classification of “traumatic injuries.” Traumatic injuries range from minor bruises, cuts and abrasions to serious bone fractures, spinal cord damage, and concussions.
Now that October is over, the leaves have changed colors, they are falling off their branches, and the Daylight Saving time ends this Sunday, November 4th, we’ve began to feel different. As the seasons change, they put us in different mental states. Although Fall brings one of the most family-oriented holidays, Thanksgiving, it can also have a negative affect on our daily outlook.
